As the news broke on Wednesday late afternoon PT about the death of Apple founder Steve Jobs, mourners began to gather at the Apple store in central San Francisco.

Some were clearly upset at the news of Steve Jobs' death

Apple fans lit candles and posted notes of condolence at an impromptu shrine

One note simply said: "iSad"

Another note said: "Just thank you"

Flowers and candles kept arriving

Meanwhile, a small shrine formed outside Apple's Regent Street store in London on Thursday
