Samsung Galaxy Tab 7 Plus

Samsung has added yet another tablet to its Galaxy Tab range, as the company continues to roll out devices to challenge the dominance of the Apple iPad.

The Galaxy Tab 7.0 Plus is essentially a refresh of the firm's first tablet. Key features include a 7in WSVGA display with 1,024x600 resolution and a 1.2GHz dual-core processor with 1GB RAM.

Samsung will ship the 7.0 Plus with Android Honeycomb 3.2, Flash support and HSPA+ capabilities. Additional features include a 3-megapixel autofocus camera on the rear, and a 2-megapixel camera on the front to enable video calling, as well as universal remote functionality.

The device offers 1080p HD video playback and 720p recording, and Samsung offers the choice of 16GB or 32GB internal storage. The tablet supports an additional 64GB via micro SD cards.

As always, Samsung has trimmed the weight, and the 345g tablet is 40g lighter than the original despite packing more power and functionality.

Samsung has one of the biggest ranges of Android devices on the market and continues to release new kit despite patent infringement action from Apple.

The firm is set to launch a 5in Galaxy Note hybrid device to sit alongside the 7.7 and 8.9, and has already made its 10.1 Tab available.

Analysts have suggested that the Korean manufacturer may have scrapped the 7in form factor, but a Samsung spokesperson told V3 at IFA that this is not the case.
