The latest news on hacktivist group Anonymous and the expected big tablet launch from Amazon were popular picks in V3's top 10 round up this week.

Most read by far was our blog post on the fall-out from the Occupy Wall Street protests in New York over the weekend. An NYPD officer apparently pepper sprayed a crowd of mostly female peaceful protesters, and Anonymous retaliated by publishing the personal details of the policeman online.

Elsewhere in the top 10, V3 readers were keen to find out more news on the latest FBI arrests of alleged members of the Anonymous and LulzSec groups.

Akamai vice president John Summers came into the V3 offices to share his thoughts on the groups, meanwhile, arguing that their activities have had a positive effect by raising awareness of the need for DDoS protection.

Security related stories dominated the top 10 once again, particularly news of Microsoft's takedown of the Kelihos botnet, the FTC shutting down a $450m e-commerce scam and the discovery of Mac malware hidden inside a PDF.

Amazon's big day came on Wednesday, and news of the firm's Kindle Fire tablet launch proved popular with readers, while our Amazon Kindle Wi-Fi vs Sony Reader Wi-Fi (PRS-T1) e-reader review was still attracting large numbers keen to see the two devices go head-to-head.
