Apple has countersued Samsung in the UK as the legal battle between the two firms continues.
In a break from the norm, Samsung started proceedings against Apple in the Chancery Court in June alleging that Apple is violating patents relating to wireless technology.
"Samsung will continue to actively defend and protect our intellectual property, and to ensure our continued innovation and growth in the mobile communication business," Samsung said in a statement to V3.
Apple confirmed to V3 that it had filed a countersuit in the UK, but declined to provide any further details.
The iPhone maker has already filed suit in the US, Germany and Australia. Samsung lost a preliminary injunction hearing in a German court, and is not allowed to sell the Galaxy Tab 10.1 in Germany at this time.
Samsung also had to remove the Galaxy Tab 7.7 from display at IFA in Berlin earlier this month.
The company said that it will appeal against the decision, and will be hoping that the UK courts are more lenient.
Meanwhile, Apple is also engaged in high-profile battles with prominent Android handset manufacturers HTC and Motorola.
HTC recently purchased nine patents from Google to boost its countersuits against Apple, and Motorola Mobility was acquired by Google in August, so these courtroom battles are far from over.
