HP has unveiled training services, analytics software and reporting tools designed to bolster the vendor's Arcsight, Fortify and TippingPoint security platforms.
The HP Enterprise Security Discovery Workshop will bring together administrators, IT staff and executives to provide a clearer picture of a company's IT infrastructure and a roadmap for future developments.
The DVLabs Cyber Security Risk Report, meanwhile, will analyse and report on trends gathered from HP tests and customer reports.
Rebecca Lawson, director of worldwide cloud service initiatives for HP, told V3 that the updates are part of a larger effort to provide a cohesive unit for enterprise security.
"Internally there has been a lot of consolidating assets. We are on a roll here because we have had a couple years to start pulling this together," she said.
Lawson explained that HP had seen a dramatic rise in attacks targeting web applications in recent years, and that web application flaws are subjecting companies to major data breaches.
Lawson believes that securing web applications, and designing them to be secure in the first place, should be a top priority for many enterprises.
"These are very inexpensive to implement relative to the cost of a breach," she explained. "Getting it early is really important, otherwise you keep having to add to the patchwork."
