Many business people face a long and sometime arduous journey into the office every week day. Some commuters like to read a book or newspaper, whereas others like to work or take a nap.

For those with an iPhone the world of apps opens up another option. V3.co.uk has picked out some of the best non-work related apps that are sure to ease the pain of the daily commute.

Dishonourable mention: Celebalike - 59p
One of the editor's favourite apps, this isn't really suitable for use on the train, or anywhere else in public unless you're in the company of friends.

Celebalike takes a picture of a person and uses face recognition to compare their mug shot against a database of 250 celebrities. The app claims it will find the best match. Fun or what?

When tried out in the office, the majority of people were compared to Wayne Rooney, Ethan Hawk, Anthony Hopkins and Jermaine Defoe despite looking nothing like them. It did trigger a few laughs, mind. (Editor's note - for 'majority' read 'the author', who is still unhappy that the above were his lookalike results.)

10. IMDB - Free

The mobile version of IMDB allows movie buffs to keep up to date with the latest goings on in Hollywood. The app packs in a surprising amount of content from the main web site and is easy to navigate, with five categories running along the top of the screen.

It's possible to watch movie trailers, get all information about your favourite TV shows and even see showtimes for local cinemas.

Our favourite part of the app is the trivia section, which always seems to contain interesting facts. For example, did you know that Tom Cruise enrolled in a seminary to become a priest aged 14 and dropped out after one year? Oh how different things could have been.
