The automatic Wi-Fi syncing capabilities set to be introduced with the Apple iOS5 update are the most popular among V3.co.uk readers, with half rating it their most anticipated feature, according to the results of our latest poll.

We asked what Apple fans were most looking forward to when the operating system update is rolled out in autumn.

Some 49 per cent said they couldn't wait to equip their iPhone, iPod Touch or iPad with the new version, and in so doing ensure that their device would sync and back-up any new content to iTunes.

PC Free for wireless device set-up and over-the-air updates was also popular, garnering 14 per cent of the votes and proving that V3.co.uk readers are keen to eliminate the need to connect the device to iTunes.

IMessage, a service set to offer Apple users the same functionality as the BlackBerry Messenger Service, gained 16 per cent of the votes, and cloud storage platform iCloud got 15 per cent.

However, both of these and the PC Free over-the-air update functionality are far from revolutionary, being available on most Android phones now for some time.

Interestingly, natively integrated Twitter functionality didn't seem to arouse much excitement among V3.co.uk readers, despite being the first third-party service to get such deep integration in an Apple device.

Tabbed browsing and other improvements to Safari-based browsing on the iPhone and iPad, meanwhile, attracted just four per cent of readers.
