Fujitsu Lifebook P771 laptop

Fujitsu has started shipping the latest high-end laptop in its P-Series range, aiming the device at travelling business users by virtue of its 18-hour battery life.

The LifeBook P771 comes with a 12in LED anti-glare screen with a resolution of 1,280x800 and at 1.3kg is ultra portable, the manufacturer said.

Customers can choose between a 1.5GHz Intel Core i7-2617UM processor or a 2.5GHz Intel Core i5-2520M, and the laptop is capable of supporting up to 8GB of DDR3 RAM.

Other key features include an SD card and SIM card slot, two USB 3.0 ports and HDMI output. Connectivity comes in the form of Wi-Fi, Bluetooth and optional 3G/UMTS.

Fujitsu also includes a modular bay, which can be used to add a DVD drive or extend battery life up to 18 hours. The bay can also be used to add extra connections via a port replicator or to integrate 3G/UMTS connectivity.

Security features include an optional 128GB SSD or 320GB Full Disk Encryption internal drive and Kensington Lock. Advanced Theft Protection and an optional fingerprint sensor is incorporated for fast and secure log-in.

Access to secure SmartCard log-on is also supported via an optional ExpressCard slot adapter, the firm said.

Pre-loaded software comes in the form of Windows 7 Professional 64-bit, Adobe Acrobat Reader, Neo Essentials 5 and Microsoft Office 2010, which users will need a licence key to access.

The Fujitsu P771 LifeBook is available now starting at £1,362 including VAT.
