O2 has launched two broadband packages aimed specifically at small businesses, complete with security software, improved technical support and back-up dongles in the event of service failure.

The mobile network operator is offering a Home Office package from £15.50 per month + VAT and an Office 10 package at £22.50 + VAT, both of which cost an extra £5 a month to non-O2 customers.

Home Office offers up to 20Mbit/s download speeds and 150GB of data, and is available for home workers or very small businesses with up to two PCs. Office 10 is aimed at companies with up to 10 PCs, offering the same download speeds and 300GB of data.

Both packages feature up to 10 free McAfee software licences for extra security protection, 24/7 free technical support and free connection from an existing supplier.

In addition, a Fast Fix service for an extra £10 a month provides a speedier way to resolve any downtime issues, including the provision of replacement dongles if the service fails, said O2.

"We understand just how vital internet access is to our customers in terms of managing their day-to-day operations. We also know the pressure they're under to cut costs, save time and improve efficiency," said Simon Devonshire, general manager of O2's Small and Medium Business.

"Our number one focus is on making their lives easier, and helping them succeed by providing a competitive and high-quality business broadband service, backed by the infrastructure to give them the right support and guarantee peace of mind."
