HP has introduced a new mobile printer for travelling workers, plus its first Officejet Pro inkjet aimed at the enterprise.
Available worldwide through HP and its authorised resellers, the two printers are both inkjets but, while one is compact and portable, the other is designed for network connectivity and is compatible with HP management tools.
The HP Officejet 100 Mobile Printer is a compact unit with a footprint of 34.8 x 17.5 x 8.4cm and weighs about 2.5kg with its battery fitted. The lithium ion unit lasts for up to 500 page prints from a full charge, according to HP, but the device can also be powered from a mains adapter when in the office.
For connectivity, the Officejet 100 has a USB port and Bluetooth wireless, the latter enabling users to print from smartphones as well as Windows laptops.
HP's printer has a 50-sheet paper tray and in normal mode is rated at up to 5ppm when printing in black and 3.5ppm in colour. It requires two ink cartridges, one black and a second one for the coloured inks.
The HP Officejet 100 Mobile Printer is priced at £249.99.
Meanwhile, HP's Officejet Pro 8000 Enterprise Printer is aimed at meeting the print needs of remote workers and the space constraints of satellite offices, the company said.
This desktop model is network-capable with built-in Ethernet plus a USB port, and supports print speeds of up to 13ppm in black and 8.5ppm in colour, with automatic two-sided printing to save on paper.
The printer ships with HP's Universal Print Driver and HP Web Jetadmin to easily integrate the device into managed printing environments, according to HP, and has high-capacity individual ink cartridges for each colour.
Paper handling consists of a 250-sheet paper tray expandable up to 500 sheets, with a duty cycle of up to 15,000 pages per month.
Security features include a password-protected embedded web server for management, SSL/HTTPS redirection, built-in device firewall and Syslog for device events.
The HP Officejet Pro 8000 costs £179.99.
