Apple has posted an iOS update for its iPad, iPhone and iPod platforms, providing bug fixes and performance improvements for the mobile operating system.
The iOS 4.3.1 update addresses issues in the iPad 2, which was released in the UK on Friday and quickly sold out, leaving many speculating about possible delays owing to the disaster in Japan.
The update also patches issues in the original iPad, iPhone 4, iPhone 3Gs and the third- and fourth-generation iPod Touch models.
Problems resolved in the fix include connection issues with certain web applications, and when attempting to connect to cellular data networks.
Other fixes include a patch for the digital TV adaptor, and a screen problem which was occurring with iPod Touch devices.
While no new information was given on security updates, Apple said that the 4.3.1 release contains content previously posted in earlier security patches. Users can obtain the iOS 4.3.1 update by connecting their devices to a Mac or PC via iTunes.
