Google has released an update for its Chrome 10 browser to address a high-profile flaw in Adobe's Flash platform.

The company said that the update would address a recently disclosed flaw for Flash that could potentially allow an attacker to remotely execute arbitrary code on a targeted system.

Adobe alerted users to the flaw earlier this week. The vulnerability is being targeted in the wild and the company said that an update to fix the issue is being planned for next week.

In addition to Flash Player, certain versions of Adobe Acrobat and Reader are also affected by the flaw.

Windows, Linux and MacOS users can be protected from the vulnerability a few days early by updating Chrome to version 10.0.648.134. The browser update contains a patched version of the Flash Player to shore up the vulnerable component.

The US Computer Emergency Response Team (US-CERT) is advising users and administrators to update their Chrome browsers immediately.
