The much anticipated 'NoDo' update for Windows Phone 7 looks set to be released in the second half of March, according to an official Microsoft blog site in France, seemingly later than Microsoft had originally intended.

Writing in a blog post, David Cohen, a digital experience specialist at Microsoft, explained that users would start to see update notifications being sent to their phones in the coming weeks.

"We are delighted to share with you that this update will be available for the second half of March through your Zune software. A notification will be pushed on all Windows 7 phones," he said.

"The update includes performance improvements and copy and paste."

Cohen also included a video demo of the copy and paste feature in action which can be seen below.

Speaking at Mobile World Congress in February, Microsoft chief executive Steve Ballmer said that the update would be available in early March. Based on the blog entry, it seems that Microsoft had to push the update back.

This may be down to a problem with the pre-update issued to prepare devices for the NoDo update, which caused some Samsung Omnia phones to 'brick'.

V3.co.uk contacted Microsoft for more information on the update, but had not had a reply at the time of publication.

It also appears that the NoDo update has been leaked for the HTC HD7 phone via the XDA Developers web site, although there is no suggestion that this has been authorised by Microsoft.
