NetSuite and data integration firm Informatica have announced a strategic partnership designed to offer large enterprises the ability to easily deploy and manage enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems in the cloud.

The partnership will allow staff in subsidiary offices to send key financial data from the NetSuite OneWorld system to their companies' main Oracle or SAP system.

NetSuite general manager Craig Sullivan told V3.co.uk that a two-tier cloud-based offering will let organisations deploy ERP systems in remote offices far more easily.

"Deploying large software systems from firms like Oracle and SAP in secondary locations can be a huge burden on IT staff, but using the cloud enables them to speed up deployments and upgrades while reducing the total cost of ownership," he said.

"Companies with a large core investment at their headquarters can leverage economies of scale when rolling out the rest of their ERP system through the cloud, rather than having to make further physical deployments."

The cloud-based service will also reduce the burden on IT staff by removing management and maintenance issues, according to Sullivan.

"We take responsibility for the management of the software so IT staff can be more business focused and give insights to management that can help make the company more effective," he said.

NetSuite OneWorld currently supports SAP and Oracle systems, but Sullivan said that more will be added when necessary.

The system has already been in use at some customers, but NetSuite does not have any information on pricing at the present time.
