Siemens Enterprise Communications is updating its unified communications offerings for mid-sized and large enterprise users.
The company said that the OpenScape UC Server Xpress package offers voice, messaging and contact management services for businesses with between 350 and 1,000 staff, and that Siemens will offer the service via its indirect partner network.
The package will bundle tools from the OpenScape Voice, Unified Messaging and Contact Center offerings, as well as OpenScape Server tools designed to speed up employment and simplify management.
Siemens will also design the service to easily scale, allowing enterprises and service providers to upgrade for larger deployments as they grow.
The service could add to the reach of an OpenScape UC platform that Siemens has been recently working to expand.
"The launch of OpenScape UC Server Xpress is further evidence of the increased focus that Siemens is placing on the indirect channel," said Leon Mangan, director of indirect channel for Siemens Enterprise Communications.
"Designed for the mid-sized enterprise, the solution combines simplicity with functionality and offers our indirect partners a tremendous opportunity to grow revenue by targeting this fast growing and highly competitive segment of the market."
Siemens expects its partners to begin rolling out the new platform throughout the first quarter of 2011.
Large enterprises can also expect an update for OpenScape. Siemens will bundle OpenScape UC Server and OpenScape UC Suite along with the OpenScape UC Voice service, which will maintain the licensing price offered for the voice service.
The company hopes that the bundled offering will introduce large enterprises to unified communications services while still keeping operating costs down.
Like the OpenScape UC Server Xpress platform, Siemens hopes to deploy the OpenScape UC Server Enterprise service over the first quarter of this year.
