Huawei has unveiled the AR G3 access router for enterprise networks designed to keep up with demand for growing services and data loads over IP networks.

The AR G3 models support wide area network deployments via wired and 3G wireless connections.

The router will also provide anti-virus and attack prevention tools as well as support for services such as multimedia gateways and unified communications.

Designed for multi-service support, the AR G3 routers sport multi-core processor support for up to 80Gbit/s switching. Huawei said that the beefed up hardware will help the router to better support heavy workloads.

The router will aim to keep up with what the company sees as a growing demand for various services within the enterprise space.

"As an interface that bridges the enterprise network and the external network, the access router plays an important part in an enterprise network," said Huawei enterprise network product line president Li Weishi.

"Based on our insights into IT and telecom services, Huawei launched the AR G3 access router for enterprises to support multi-services."

The launch of the router comes as Huawei has been pushing to clear its name and move into a new market.

Faced with what it sees as a block from entering the US market owing to connections with the Chinese government, Huawei has been petitioning authorities to investigate its ties and clear the company of any suspicion of wrongdoing.
