Google has posted a security update for its Chrome web browser.
The company said that the 5.0.375.127 update would address nine vulnerabilities within the browser as well as an additional fix to help mitigate a vulnerability in the Windows kernel.
Of the nine browser vulnerabilities addressed in the update, Google has rated two as being 'critical' security risks. Six of the flaws were rated as 'high' risks and one was classified as a 'medium' risk.
The US Computer Emergency Response Team is advising users and administrators to apply any necessary updates. The group notes that the vulnerabilities could leave users exposed to spoofing, denial of service and remote code execution attacks.
Google said that nine of the vulnerabilities qualified for monetary rewards under the company's paid disclosure programme. Rewards ranging from $500 to $2000 were doled out, with researcher Sergey Glazunov receiving a pair of the company's special " $1337" award for discovering the two 'critical' vulnerabilities.
The patch comes in the wake of the announcement from Google that the Chrome web store was opening to developers. Proposed offerings for the store include web-based applications as well as themes and extensions for the Chrome browser.
