SAS has updated three of its analytics packages

SAS is looking to help enterprises solve difficult tasks and boost innovation with fresh updates to three of its products.

The business analytics and services firm said that the updates will help " remarkable organisations" solve their most challenging problems.

The enhancements will give enterprises new econometric, optimisation and statistical capabilities, the firm said.

Customers will be able to better identify opportunities, while mitigating risks and streamlining and improving business processes, according to Radhika Kulkarni, vice president of advanced analytics research and development at SAS.

"SAS has always forged advancements in analytics. SAS analytics supports better decisions and outcomes by collecting, exploring, analysing and interpreting patterns, relationships, trends and anomalies in data," he said.

"Our enhanced analytics software is helping organisations handle challenging data issues and solve complex problems in ways they never could before."

The updated SAS Econometrics & Time Series Analysis (SAS/ETS) for econometrics, SAS Operations Research (SAS/OR) and SAS Statistical Analysis (SAS/STAT) are all available now, and should help firms get a keen understanding of the minutiae of their operations, the firm said.

SAS/ETS will let enterprise users evaluate the full impact of any events, for example the amount of damage likely to be caused by a natural disaster. The company said that the software will allow organisations to take more effective action.

SAS/OR, meanwhile, lets users model systems and events in order to identify problems, and is best suited to manufacturing, banking, customer service and healthcare issues.

Lastly, SAS/STAT will let analysts and analytics professionals create and store modelling information for study and reuse.
