Apple has released an update for iTunes 7 which addresses several serious problems with the media player.
The iTunes 7.0.1 update fixes "issues" that have plagued the application since its launch two weeks ago, according to Apple's website.
The firm has repaired problems with iPod synching, the importing of CD album art and the new 'cover flow' browsing interface.
Apple did not provide full details of other fixes included in the update, and did not immediately return requests for comment.
Apple has already issued support notices for the Mac OS X and Windows versions of the package which detail issues ranging from improper installation to failure to read iPods.
ITunes 7 was introduced on 12 September at a company event in San Francisco. Shortly after the launch, Apple's support forums were flooded with complaints about navigation, poor sound quality and application crashes.
The updated application is available for download from the Apple website.

ITunes Fix
It worked. After downloading iTunes 7.0 iTunes packed up on my computer and no matter what I tried I could not fix it. Even going back to iTunes 6 proved not to be an option as the new software had attached itself to the library and was now no longer compatible with iTunes 6. But with this latest fix I am back in business. Why Apple could not have been straight about it and admitted there was a glitch and that they were working on it so stay calm in the meantime. That way I would not have wasted hours trying to fix it. Or is it the fear of the ever litigious americans that made they so coy?
