Borland has started shipping version 2 of its JBuilder Java based development environment.
The tool includes a switching feature to enable programmers to choose the Java Development Kit (JDK) they wish to write to. The kits are hosted in an updatable library.
Code Insight also informs users which objects are valid for use with which JDKs, and will highlight those sections of code that are invalid should developers change JDK mid-project and suggest ways to rewrite them.
JBuilder also includes a library of more than 200 Sun and third party Java Beans.
