The FBI has nabbed a second geek anarchist allegedly involved in terrorism and hacking activities.

Joseph Konopka, 25, who uses the pseudonym Dr Chaos, was pulled by the authorities on 9 March charged with illegally possessing sodium and potassium cyanide.

He is also thought to be involved in a number of hacking incidents, as well as having loose ties to hacker magazine 2600.

When he was arrested, authorities found five pounds of cyanide and a wirelessly equipped laptop secreted in the utility tunnel system beneath Chicago.

Late last week the FBI swooped on 2600's monthly gathering. The magazine holds open meetings in a number of different cities on the first Friday of every month for those interested in technology and communications.

According to reports, the FBI questioned the 15 or so attendees about Konopka, subway tunnels, chemicals and explosives and even demanded some attendees' IRC usernames.

Konopka was wanted for acts of vandalism in association with a group calling itself Realm of Chaos. According to reports in USA Today, Realm of Chaos is a disparate group of teenagers based in Wisconsin that vandalised and damaged power stations and cellular phone and radio towers.

Konopka is being held without bond after Federal Magistrate Judge Edward Bobrick said that he posed "an extreme danger to the community".

In February, armed FBI agents raided the home of an 18 year-old Los Angeles geek and confiscated computer equipment used to run an anarchist website. He was later release without charge.
