Home Internet access shows no sign of slowing, according to a report by Durlacher. The number of UK dialup accounts has trebled to over 1.1 million since September 1995, netting Internet service providers (ISPs) some #163.5 million in revenue.
The report, which estimates the number of UK Internet users at four million, states that the number of ISPs has more than doubled, rising from about 80 in September 1995 to just under 200 in June this year. Durlacher predicts the number of accounts in UK homes to reach 2.6 million by 1999.
