Companies don't come out with new products, they come out with 'innovations' and 'solutions'. These products are often rolled out with rock star hype and grandiose predictions from executives and analysts.
While the marketing folks no doubt love all the publicity, it can turn somewhat embarrassing when the product fizzles. Even when it succeeds, we still remember the hype.
This week, we take a look at some of those epic failures that crashed despite being billed as the 'next big thing'.

No IPhone on the list?
Nothing represents overhyping like the IPhone. Even after having their ads deemed illegal by the ASA Apple are still showing them and pretending the IPhone is far more slicker than it is. Personally I had an IPhone for about 3 months before its clunky and slow interface got too much and I realised all the "this changes everything" features were gimmicks I never used (and actually available on lots of other phones anyway) so ditched i it in favour of a decent mobile.

voice recognition software
perseverance is required. As per the instructions, if necessary, go thru a dictation exercise from time to time. I use the MSWord but a loss adjuster friend in business has used Dragon extremely successfully for many years
