The Meteorological Office is launching MetWeb, which is designed to provide state of the art weather information including five-day forecasts, pressure charts and detailed satellite images. The snag is that it costs 50p per access - users will have to buy books of 20 virtual tickets from the MetWeb credit card helpline.
Until the end of October a limited number of users will get free access by completing an application form on site. Less detailed weather information is still available free of charge.
