Aside from price and availability, over a third said that the most compelling reason to receive voice, video and data services from one company is that it would be 'more convenient overall'.
The poll, conducted by market research firm InsightExpress on behalf of service management company SupportSoft, also found that 86 per cent of respondents believe that customer service would stay the same or improve if they received voice, video and data services from one provider. Some 17 per cent believe that it will 'improve significantly'.
However, the study noted that, despite expectations of improved service, subscribers still have concerns about IP-based voice and video services.
The two biggest concerns for potential customers were poor sound quality (24 per cent) and loss of service in the event of an electricity outage (24 per cent). Just under a third cited poor picture quality.
