CompuServe tops ISP league

On-line service providers had more than 700,000 members between them at the end of last year, with the battle for second and third place particularly fierce.

CompuServe was the clear leader with 400,000 subscribers, followed by MSN with between 110,000 and 130,000 (depending on who you believe) and AOL with 100,000.
