Samsung has officially unveiled its Q-Series range of laptops, although the company has yet to confirm prices.
The three devices are fronted by the Q530, which targets business travellers and heavy mobile users.
Weighing in at 2.39kg, the Q530 comes with a 15.6in LED HD screen, boasting a 1,366 x 768 resolution and 16:9 aspect ratio. The device also comes with the latest Nvidia GeForce GT 330M graphics card. Storage options range up to 640GB.
The Q430 shares the same features as the Q530, but has a 14in screen and weighs 0.3kg less.
Meanwhile, the Q330 is highly portable at just 1.97kg and packs a 13.3in HD LED display. It is equipped with a hybrid graphic feature, automatically alternating graphic modes between the Intel HD graphics card and the Nvidia GeForce 310M. This allows it to last up to seven hours on a single charge, according to Samsung.
All three laptops come with Samsung AllShare, a function that allows users to share multimedia files with Samsung cameras and mobile handsets using the Digital Living Network Alliance.
An ad-hoc Wi-Fi connection means the Q series models can copy files, images, music or share information with any other PC.
Battery life for the Q Series is claimed to be six hours with a 5,200mAh battery or seven hours with 5,900mAh battery. This can be boosted with Samsung's Extended Battery Life solution, the firm said.
The Q-Series will be out later this month going head-to-head with Toshiba's R700, a 13in, 1.3kg business laptop that supports Intel's latest i3, i5 and i7 chipsets. Toshiba claimed nine hours of battery life on a single charge. The R700 will be available in mid-July with prices starting at around £699.
Prices for the Samsung Q-Series are reported to start at £599. V3.co.uk contacted the manufacturer and is awaiting confirmation.
