HP has announced that EDS chief executive Ronald Rittenmeyer will retire on 31 December, as the company is incorporated into HP's Technology Solutions Group (TSG).
HP completed its £9.45bn acquisition of the IT services giant in August this year, and it was expected that EDS would form the basis of a new business unit.
Under the new structure, Rittenmeyer's successor, Joe Eazor, will take on the role of senior vice president of EDS, reporting directly to Ann Livermore, executive vice president of HP's TSG.
Eazor is currently senior vice president of transformation at EDS, and led his team through the HP acquisition and subsequent integration. Prior to the acquisition, Eazor was executive vice president of corporate strategy and business development at EDS.
The new structure will enable HP to provide more integrated solutions for its customers, and more quickly boost revenues and efficiencies for the firm, the vendor said.
"HP redefined the enterprise IT market with the acquisition of EDS," said HP chief executive Mark Hurd. "We are ahead of schedule with the integration of EDS, and combining TSG and EDS is the next step in that process."
