Adobe will not issue any patches to enable the majority of its existing software suites to run under Windows Vista, requiring users to waiting for future versions.
A PDF document posted on Adobe's website warned that its existing applications can experience "minimal issues" with Microsoft's new operating system.
Adobe currently supports only Flash Player 9, Photoshop Elements 5.0.3 and Premier Elements 3.0.2 on Vista, and advises against running any of its other applications.
The firm's flagship Photoshop C2 suite installs and runs with "minimal known issues", as does InDesign, Dreamweaver, Flash Editor and After Effects.
Adobe plans to release new versions of these products this spring and summer and does not plan to issue updates to the current versions.
Adobe is typically slow to release versions of its products that support the latest operating systems. The company has yet to release a Photoshop version that supports Intel-powered Apple computers, for example.
The OS X Rosetta emulation engine allows current versions to function, but has a severe impact on application performance.
An Intel-compatible version of Photoshop is currently in beta and is slated for release this spring.

photoshop elements 4 compatability with vista
I have recently purchased a laptop and installed elements 4. I now discover that it is incompatable with vista. I am very angry that Adobe do not supply a download to correct this problem. Not everyone can afford to keep upgrading. I was planning to use the laptop for classes in using photoshop but now cannot do this. I think it is a disgrace that adobe treat its customers in this way.
