Voice over IP provider Skype yesterday announced an agreement with electronic payment firm Click&Buy to deliver a secure online payment option for Skype users.
Click&Buy offers a simple and secure payment option for Skype users to load their Skype-Wallet with credits, which can be used for various services at the Skype Store.
Click&Buy accepts a number of foreign currencies and claims to convert payments without high transaction and conversion fees.
The service is available to users in Austria, Belgium, Denmark, Finland, France, Germany, Italy, Ireland, Mexico, The Netherlands, Norway, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, the US and the UK.
"Click&Buy's offering of payment options across the US and all European markets, bundled with the traditional means of credit and debit card payments, will give Skype a more well-rounded solution for online digital payments," said Fabian Siegel, president of Click&Buy.
Michael Jackson, head of paid services at Skype, added: "Skype intends to further expand its worldwide customer base, and Click&Buy's European business and growth in the US makes it an attractive payment system."
