US lawyer Jack Thompson has threatened to sue Take2 Interactive in an attempt to prevent the release of Grand Theft Auto 4 after claiming that one of the characters in the game satirises him.
Thompson, who is under investigation by the Florida bar after a series of complaints, said that a character in the game is a lawyer who says: 'Guns don't kill people. Video games do.'
The anti-gaming lawyer stated in a letter to Take2 Interactive chairman Strauss Zelnick that he is worried that gamers will copy the game and put him at risk.
The first mission in the game involves the lead character having to gain entry into a lawyer's office and shoot the lawyer.
The letter also claimed that GTA4 developer Rockstar Games alleges on its website that Thompson is bisexual, something which he says has led to his wife being sent sex toys by gamers.
This is not the first time that Thompson has claimed that he has been parodied in a video game.
The lawyer has already complained that Midway Games showed an avatar of him in Mortal Kombat: Armageddon.
He has also sued a former US Attorney General for battery after she touched his arm.
Thompson has been a thorn in the side of the US computer games industry, and has taken repeated action to stop what he believes are harmful games.
The lawyer claimed in April that the Virginia campus shootings were down to the killer's video gaming habits, and has pioneered laws that ban the sale of computer games to minors even though these have been struck down by the Supreme Court.

And other video games don't do any of those things?
GTA might do all of the following things mentioned. but there are a lot of games that do this anyway. GTA is just one of the popular ones. also...the first mission in gta 4 is taking your cousin bowling.

First off im a game designer, and nothing in a game is any different that any other piece of multi media out there in our society right now, YES its true you drive around killing people selling drugs and having sex with prostitutes, BUT THATS WHAT AMERICAS ABOUT GOD DAMN IT. Christopher Columbus and George Washington would be rolling over in their graves if they knew some idiots claiming to protect the constitution and peoples well being said that they couldnt drink and smoke and bang reckless amounts of dirty women for his hard earned money, THATS JUST UNPATRIOTIC AND BLASPHEMY to the way our Captiolist system works, SO STOP GETTING UR PANTIES in a bunch and suck on a egg !!!!

Grow Up
If you are over 10 years old and still play video games - you need to grow up and study/get a job. Seriously. Games like this are why the US has the most ingnorant, uneducated population on the planet

GTA is not bad
the only thing about games is the person who plays them and did you hear about someone got muged for the game guss wat someone got mued for a iphone and a book (harry potter). games are not bad get in in your HEADS.

the first mission isnt to gain access to an lawyers office. Jack Tompson is an idiot, the first mission is just to give someone a lift try to get your facts right, Your just trying to get good games banned
