A US man has managed to borrow $60 until next Friday using internet auction website eBay.
Long-time eBay seller zmode, who lives in Seattle, set up an auction where users could bid to lend him $60.
Zmode admitted he was broke because he had paid some bills and "sucked at saving".
"So here I am asking the good people of eBay to put a little faith in someone with some good history so far and loan me $60 until next Friday."
The idea for the auction came when zmode was discussing a loan with a friend.
"He says I should just put something up on eBay about it, and I said 'no one will ever go for that; I bet they take it down'!"
Although bidding to lend zmode his beer money was not exactly intense, another eBay seller, Vandalay10, bailed him out.
Zmode pledged to send his benefactor a handwritten thank you note, detailing what he did over the weekend.
