Nintendo will provide its next-generation Revolution console with 20 titles at launch, according to a statement from its vice president George Harrison.
Speaking in the latest edition of Game Informer magazine, Harrison said that Nintendo had learned from past mistakes with the Gamecube.
"The other thing we recognised is that you really make your reputation in the first year," he said.
"You've got to deliver software, not just at launch but in the first six to nine months after launch and it has to be solid software. In Gamecube, we didn't have that."
Harrison also hinted that the Revolution console, which has lower specs than the Xbox 360 and the PlayStation 3, would sell for less than its competitors.
"Our goal is to come in at a slightly more mass market price," he said.

Revolution Wi-Fi
The Nintendo Revolution includes Nintendo Wi-Fi access which will promote both Revolution and DS play. This is a blessing for rookie NWFC players because they will not need to purchase a Nintendo Wi-Fi USB Connector or purchase a WAP[Wireless Access Point]. Will this mean that Nintendo will get its online gaming act together? The Nintendo Gamecube had no online games whatsoever,but their portable system the Nintendo DS has become their first online gaming system. The Revolution will probably have a great online gaming community,but what I am worried about is the hateful friend codes the DS online games use. Why do we have to meet someone in person to register them as our friend? I could still register someone on my friends list if they wrote their friend code on a piece of paper and dropped it on the street and I found it! What's wrong with having a friend on a non-chat type online game like Mario-Kart DS? Hopefully the Revolution won't be a mimic of the DS online connection.
