Google-powered search boxes that appear on third-party web sites can now be accessed from mobile phones.
The web giant said that it is adding mobility to its Custom Search product because so much search traffic now originates from smartphones.
Enabling a mobile version of Custom Search was one of the most requested features in Google's recent Product Ideas survey, the firm said.
The new access will be given to users of Android, iPhone and Palm Pre devices. When the user performs a search the results will be optimised for their specific device.
"As you can see, Custom Mobile Search results can match the look and feel of your own web site," said Google Search product manager Rajat Mukherjee in a blog post.
