Fluke Networks has created a new business division called Visual Network Systems and launched two products designed to give IT teams greater insight into networks.
The new division is dedicated to delivering products in the application performance management (APM) market, an area where Fluke Networks expects significant growth in the future.
"We're launching the new business to really go after the communications and enterprise market areas, and to help people in these markets understand what we can offer," said general manager and head of Visual Network Systems, Lyn Cantor.
"We really want to aim at big Fortune 1000 companies to help with the IT operations and applications development, and bring the management of hardware and software together in a common goal."
Visual Network Systems first offerings are two new products that aim to provide IT staff with more insight into their networks and application management.
The VPM Connex is designed to work with the company's existing Visual Performance Manager (VPM) product to provide a wide-range of metrics and analysis readings of third-party enterprise platforms.
This gives access to a raft of tools including alarm life cycle management, business dashboard report of network and application tools, work flow automation and user interface panels for management tool workflow improvements.
"IT staff want more granular information to help them build a better picture of what is happening in their networks to help them improve efficiency and quality of service," said Cantor.
The second offering comprises a series of new analysis service elements (ASEs) to provide real-time insight on network and applications performance, including VoIP, as well as deep packet inspection and analysis of converged networks.
"The ASEs complement our flow-based collectors to provide a diverse set of data collectors so that our customers can have complete visibility of their enterprise WAN, LAN and datacentres," Cantor added.
