According to IBM, its Mobile Portal offering extends virtually any data that can be accessed from a desktop portal to portals on mobile devices.
The Device Management software aims to allow service providers to manage client applications and reduce the cost of customer care, while the Telecoms Application Server allows third-party developers to gain access to network service capabilities such as voice messaging, text and multimedia messaging, and location and presence, through standard telecoms web services.
IBM said WebSphere Everyplace Service Delivery provides key components of its Service Provider Delivery Environment, a platform designed to help operators bring voice, text and internet-based services to their customers, while reducing the complexity of application and business process integration.
The WebSphere Everyplace Service Delivery family also includes a service creation environment based on the Eclipse platform.
