Most popular this week has been news of a demonstration held by the Free Software Foundation (FSF) in Boston against Microsoft and proprietary software, ahead of the release of Windows 7 in October.
In support of the rally on Boston Common on Wednesday, the FSF launched a Windows 7 Sins campaign, outlining seven areas where it claims proprietary software can hurt users, and sent out letters to the heads of every company in the Fortune 500 - except Microsoft - to highlight the issue.
Nokia wowed V3.co.uk readers this week with the launch of its Booklet 3G, a mini laptop based on Intel's Atom processor with a 10in screen and weighing 1.25kg. The Windows netbook marks a radical departure from the Finnish technology giant's traditional handset products.
Other big news this week has centred around Apple's next operating system release, Snow Leopard, with security features and the release date causing lots of controversy in the lead-up to today's official launch.
