HANNOVER: MSI is touting a range of touch-screen devices and 3D technology at CeBIT this year, as the firm predicts rapid take up of the technologies by the end of 2010.
The company has showcased several new products on its stand at the show, including an all-in-one HD 3D PC that it said should be ready for market by the second half of the year, using 19in to 24in screens complete with touch-screen technology.
MSI marketing manager Richard Stewart claimed that 3D technology is becoming firmly established.
"The advent of 3D films has meant that people can now see the benefit of 3D technology, and we believe by the middle of this year it will be heavily in demand. We already have plans for 24in screens and larger planned for the future," he said.
MSI also unveiled its GT660 laptop designed in conjunction with audio specialists DynAudio to provide improved sound quality.
"In the past audio was almost an afterthought but this product has been designed around the speakers to make sure it offers the best possible combination of sounds and audio," he added.
The device is powered by an Intel Core i7 processor, and has a 500GB hard drive and an Intel HM55 mobile chipset.
Finally, MSI had a dual-screen 10in netbook concept product on display that Stewart said will arrive some time around the end of the year.
"We hope to bring the dual-screen product to market, but at the moment we are just waiting to see how touch-screen technology progress throughout the year before we announce anything," he said.
The device has a screen on each side that can run independently of the other to show separate content such as a film on one side and the internet on the other, or as one to display images across the entire device, such as a two-page e-reader.
The concept product is already able to run Windows 7, Android and Linux operating systems.
