Sun Microsystems will detail a range of new global products and services next Tuesday at its SunNetwork conference in Shanghai.

A spokeswoman said that the event would feature news about centralised and automated identity management software, and updates to the Java Enterprise System particularly with regard to mobility.

Sun is also expected to discuss management and developer enhancements to its Java Development System, enterprise 64-bit and grid computing, and new services designed to reduce risks to data centres.

The company will also outline 30 innovations to reduce the cost and complexity - and raise the availability and utilisation - of network computing.

System and network storage upgrades will feature at the conference, as well as new hardware and software technologies.

Sun has taken to holding such briefings each quarter, in which it tends to make many new product statements.
