Parts of Yahoo were shut down on Tuesday following software problems encountered in the merging of Yahoo Groups and Yahoo Clubs.
Yahoo Mail and My Yahoo were closed by the glitch which lasted less than an hour, according to Yahoo and website performance measurement company Matrix NetSystems.

The company started integrating the services about four weeks ago and plans to have the project finished by the end of March. But Club users have been reporting irregular and missing content during the process.
A Yahoo representative said yesterday that the services were only down for 45 minutes due to software issues.
A statement declared: "We have identified the issue, and corrected it. We know that this may have caused some inconvenience, and we apologise to Yahoo users who might have been affected.
"We take these issues extremely seriously, and Yahoo is instituting new processes to protect against similar incidents occurring again."
The outage comes just two weeks after Yahoo suffered a glitch that closed communication lines for the portal's Yahoo Groups email service.
