BT Retail has extended the reach of its Symmetric Digital Subscriber Line (SDSL) business service to 150 telephone exchanges following a trial in London and Coventry.
The SDSL service is designed for customers that need to send out very large files, or use technologies such as video conferencing.
It differs from Asymmetric DSL in that it allows data to be sent at the same speed as it is received.
BT Retail said the service will be offered from 150 enabled exchanges in areas including Manchester, Liverpool, Leeds, Sheffield, York and Birmingham.
Craig Rowland, BT Retail business managing director, said in a statement: "Back in January we promised to extend the availability of our SDSL retail product if there proved to be commercial demand. We have already seen that demand."
BT Business Broadband Advanced connections cost from £170 per month, with bandwidth costs varying depending on required capacity.
