Oracle's proposed buy-out of BEA still requires stockholder approval and regulatory clearance

The US Department of Justice and the US Federal Trade Commission have effectively cleared Oracle's proposed acquisition of BEA Systems.

The two authorities granted an early termination of the Hart-Scott-Rodino review period applying to the deal.

BEA has scheduled a special meeting of its stockholders on 4 April to consider and vote on the proposed merger.

The transaction still requires BEA stockholder approval and regulatory clearance from the European Commission. Other closing conditions also apply.
