The Software Freedom Law Center has appointed two additional lawyers

The Software Freedom Law Center (SFLC), provider of pro bono legal services to protect and advance free and open source software, today announced the expansion of its operations with the appointment of two additional lawyers.

SFLC offers legal representation and other law-related services, and is dedicated to assisting non-profit open source developers and projects.

"I am delighted to welcome to the SFLC two extraordinary lawyers whose unique skills will greatly benefit our clients and the free software community," said Eben Moglen, chairman of the SFLC.

"Both Karen Sandler and James Vasile bring an already extensive background in technology and law, and represent the foundation from which future generations of lawyers will address the increasing need for legal expertise applied to free and open source software."

Sandler comes to the SFLC after working as an associate in the corporate departments of Gibson, Dunn & Crutcher LLP in New York and Clifford Chance in New York and London.

Vasile holds a Juris Doctorate from Columbia Law School and a bachelor's degree in political science and economics from Fordham University.
