Sony has released the latest firmware update for European PlayStation Portable users, enabling them to make and receive VoIP calls over Skype.
Following an initial announcement at CES in January, the version 3.90 update allows owners of the new slim PSP to make and receive calls over Skype.
Owners of the older version of the PSP will not have access to Skype, but the update does include an icon for Sony's upcoming Go!Messenger suite of communication tools.
Go!Messenger is expected to be available at the end of February, and users can obtain more information about the feature from a dedicated website by clicking on the icon.
The new update also adds expanded support for PlayStation Network titles for both versions of the PSP.
