Logitech has announced a wireless keyboard with a difference. The new K800 model features smart backlighting that illuminates the keys when in use, but turns it off when the user moves away.
Available from September at a suggested retail price of £89.99, the Logitech Wireless Illuminated Keyboard K800 features ambient light and motion sensors that automatically adjust the backlight to match the ambient light conditions in the room, Logitech said.
The motion sensors detect the user's hands near the keyboard to turn the backlighting on, and turn it off to conserve power when the hands move away. This allows it to be used on batteries for up to 10 days without recharging, according to the firm.
The K800 is designed to work with Logitech's Unifying receiver, a USB adapter small enough to be left in the USB port of any PC or laptop and which supports up to six Logitech wireless keyboard or mouse devices.
