BlockMaster offers fast and secure USB storage

BlockMaster is laying claim to the world's fastest secure USB Flash drive with its SafeStick SuperSonic, said to be five times faster than rival models and offering built-in 256-bit AES hardware encryption.

Available now, the SafeStick SuperSonic costs £65 for a 4GB model and £115 for an 8GB unit.

BlockMaster said that the drive supports write speeds up to 23MB/s and read speeds of 33MB/s, designed to support the huge growth in rich media files, such as images and videos, being transferred using removable storage.

The device also offers a shorter time to access files after being inserted into the computer than other secure USB drives, according to the firm.

"Unsecure portable devices are still being used, because other more secure devices are often sluggish which impacts user productivity," said BlockMaster chief security officer Anders Pettersson.

"This means users just take their chances, no matter what the corporate security policy says. SafeStick solves this problem as it provides access to files within seconds, so there is no hassle for the user and productivity levels remain high."

For enterprise customers, BlockMaster offers SafeConsole, a web-based management tool for managing and auditing SafeSticks, which the company said works wherever they are used around the world.
