Asus has released a new line of ultra-thin LCD monitors featuring HD 1080p support, a 50,000:1 contrast ratio and HDMI connections. Screen sizes in the Designo MS line will range from 20in to 23.5in inches and offer ratios of 16:10 or 16:9.
The screens feature an ultrathin 16.5mm profile and use Asus' new ring stand design as well as an ergo-fit adjustment system to allow users to easily adjust the position of the screen.
The company is targeting notebook users in particular, explaining that the height of the ring stand allows the monitor to appear at a matching height to that of the notebook's own screen.
Asus also said that it had committed to ecologically friendly practices in the design and manufacture of the Designo line. The monitors consume 40 per cent less energy, and the company claims a 50 per cent reduction in hazardous materials.
