NTL Home is offering domain name search and registration services to its internet customers through a deal with domain services firm NetBenefit.
Under the agreement, NTL Home's customers will be able to purchase and manage domain names through ntlworld.com, the cable company's consumer portal.
Broadband customers are twice as likely to set up their own web space than dial-up customers, with more than one in five broadband customers at some stage setting up a website, according to NTL.
The firm will target the domain services at its own 911,000 broadband customers.
Ashley Middleton, head of portal management at NTL Home, said: "Domain names are an essential tool for anyone wanting to set up a website, be it a hobby site or a family homepage.
"The domain names service complements our existing ntl.webspace area, which is designed to help our internet customers make the most of the 55MB of free web space we provide."
NetBenefit chief executive Geoff Wicks added: "Portals are increasingly wanting to offer value-added services to customers."
