US firm invents 'first true AI'

US-based IP multimedia company GTX Global Corporation yesterday claimed to have invented the first ‘true’ artificial intelligence - a human-like information management and delivery system.

GTX’s Global Cognitive Robotics project is an integrated software system designed to mimic human behavior including a dialogue-oriented knowledge database that contains static and dynamic data relating to human scenarios. The software’s knowledge base also includes translation, processing and analysis components that are responsible for processing of vocal and/or textual and/or video input.

This system extracts the "emotional characteristics" of the input and produces instructions on how to respond with the appropriate substantive response and emotion.

The company has tested the software package as a replacement for sales and customer service staff. It is targeting a market for firms seeking ways to streamline their work force operations.

Going forward, GTX said it expects to use automated intelligence agents for website sales and customer service; entertainment education for tutoring; providing the intelligence for smart home automation systems; and later branching into traditional robotics by providing automated intelligence for robotic hardware.
