Dell has appointed Brian Gladden to replace Don Carty as chief financial officer.
Carty will relinquish the post on 13 June after roughly 18 months, and take a spot on the company's board of directors.
Gladden, formerly president and chief executive at SABIC Innovative Plastics Holding, will work as senior vice president until Carty officially resigns his post.
"I am excited to be joining Dell at a time of transformation," said Gladden.
Carty had long been considered as only a temporary CFO. He took over the position in order to settle the company's accounting woes with the SEC and help Michael Dell rebuild the company and implement some $3bn worth of budget cuts.
"Don has played a key role in re-establishing transparency and integrity in our financial practices and we are extremely grateful to have had his leadership," said Dell.
"We look forward to his continuing contributions and experience, and we look forward to welcoming Brian as an operationally focused CFO."
